NASA scientists testing new aircraft [Video]

The U.S Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA, is commonly associated with space exploration, but aeronautics is still a big part of the agency’s research. Engineers at its Aeronautics Research Center, in Hampton, Virginia, are testing new ideas that someday may produce lighter, quieter and less polluting aircraft.

By 2030, NASA would like to see planes that burn 60 to 70 percent less fuel, pollute less and are quieter than 2005 models.

NJC Erred in suspending Rivers’ Chief Judge, says Rivers’ APC

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress says it has watched with amazement what it dubbed ‘macabre dance’ of the National Judicial Council (NJC) with regard to the appointment of Justice P.N.C Agumagu as the Chief Judge of Rivers State by the State Government. “The height of this was the suspension of Justice Agumagu by the NJC barely days after he was sworn-in as Rivers’ Chief Judge. The All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State Chapter, is convinced that the NJC erred seriously on this issue as due process was not followed in Justice Agumagu’s suspension and we wish to request the revered NJC to reverse this decision in the interest of justice” the All Progressives Congress, APC, said in a press release signed by Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze.

India woman gang raped by doctor, aide steps forward

A 40 year-old woman who was gang raped  three years ago finally steps forward file a complaint. The woman revealed that she was raped by the Doctor and some other men in Hauz Khas Area of South Delhi, India.

Police have so far arrested one person, Vikas (40) who had allegedly raped her three years ago. As per the complaint, the incident took place on Saturday afternoon when Raj Narayan (40), whom the woman knew, took her to the Sai Temple area in Lodhi Colony to meet 75-year-old Relia, a doctor, for a security guard's job at a dispensary. "Then, the three left for Hauz Khas to meet 80-year-old Kishore Chand Narang at his residence, where Reila and Narayan allegedly took turns to rape her. Narang was present at the house at that time," said a police officer.

Deadly Ebola virus confirmed in Liberia

Liberia's health minister says two patients have tested positive for the deadly Ebola virus, which is already believed to have killed at least 70 people in neighbouring Guinea.

Walter Gwenigale told The Associated Press on Sunday that one patient was married to a Guinean man and had returned ill from a recent trip there. She died in Lofa County.

Police officer shoots a man he caught having sex with woman in his pool in broad daylight

An off-duty Florida sheriff’s deputy shot a man he caught having sex with a woman in the pool of a Boca Raton apartment complex Saturday.

The incident took place at Reflections of Boca Del Mar at 5500 Pacific Boulevard at around 12.20pm, when investigators say a Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy emerged from his apartment and discovered a couple having a tryst in the communal pool.

1,500 Nigerians Killed in Boko Haram Violence in 2014 - Amnesty International

20 Boko Haram suspects killed in DSS complex jailbreak attempt

At least 20 Boko Haram detainees were Sunday shot dead in a shootout that ensued at the Department of State Security Service in the Asokoro a district of Abuja.

The shootout started when some of the suspected terrorists attempted to free their members and escape from the detention facility, which is close to the Presidential Villa.

A fisherman in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, caught a giant 5-ton fish suspected of being an endangered whale shark, reported on Friday.

A local resident said the fish looks like a whale shark, a kind of gentle and slow-moving shark and the largest known extinct fish species.

Drunk man sleeps on railroad, has leg severed by a moving train but still stays passed out for 6 hours

An unfortunate Japanese man who got drunk and fell asleep by the railway, woke up to find himself legless.

Mailonline reports ,the government worker from Saga Prefecture had apparently passed out on a platform at Karatsu Station following a boozy night with friends and had fallen onto the tracks.

As he lay next to the railway line, his left leg was almost completely severed just below the knee by a train pulling into the station for the night.

Father Catches 16-Year-Old Boy In Shower With His Daughter And Beats Him Up

Athens-Clarke County Police arrested a 49-year-old man Tuesday on charges of battery and cruelty to children after they said he caught his daughter’s boyfriend in the shower with her.

Police responded to a call from Clinton Antonio Ward, who said he had caught teens inside his apartment.

When officers arrived, they spoke with Ward outside the apartment, then entered to talk to the teens.

75 year old man slumped and died while in bed with a married woman

Police in Benin have taken a married woman into protective custody to prevent her being lynched by an irate mob after a 75-year old man she was having sexual intercourse with slumped and died while in bed with her.

According to the police, the man, popularly known as Elder David, gave up the ghost after his secret liaison with the married woman in a hotel in the Government Reservation Area of Benin City at about 1pm. His corpse was then taken to the Benin Central Hospital and it was while there that a mob tried to attack the woman.

The UN General Assembly has approved a resolution affirming Ukraine's territorial integrity and calling the referendum that led to Russia's annexation of its Crimean peninsula illegal.

The vote on the Ukraine-sponsored resolution was 100 countries in favour, 11 opposed and 58 abstentions.

The Oyo State capital, Ibadan, has been in the news for all the wrong reasons in the last one week and the gory stories continue to unravel. First it was the discovery of a horror forest where human bodies and skeletons were discovered in a community. Few days after that discovery, a man who disguised himself as a mad man was arrested with human tongues and other body part.

The latest that is coming from the ancient city is that a man who disguised as a Pastor has been nabbed after he was discovered to be in possession of a human skull. The preacher, dressed in white garment and going about preaching at the top of his voice and receiving money from people, was arrested at Agbowo Junction.

It was a scary scene yesterday in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, as a Police Corporal, Sunkanmi Ogunbiyi, shot dead his wife, Corporal Oluwatosin Faremi, and six others.

Ogunbiyi critically injured three people before killing himself with own riffle.

Instead of returning his official AK – 47 riffle to the police armoury after a night shift, it was learnt that, he went home with it yesterday around 7:05am and shot his wife, who was about to leave for work.
